Harpo Studios is a highly respected television production company with a 25-year legacy of high quality, innovative programming—from Rachael Ray and Dr. Oz to the iconic Oprah Winfrey Show. Planning for an expansive multifaceted future, Harpo realized that they needed a fresh brand identity that would continue to build their legacy as well as herald a new era.

Working closely with Harpo, Bruce Mau Design identified the key qualities that needed to be embedded in the identity: confidence, delight, evolution, creativity, heart and soul. The identity needed to be flexible enough to come alive in 3-D animation and motion graphics, and to maintain the same exuberance in print application.

BMD delivered a solution that provided a rich and iconic baseline that Harpo may adapt as they develop new programming and assets. We also designed a series of end-of-show animations, stationery, campus signage and extensive brand guidelines that visualize how the new mark would function in Harpo's extensive brand architecture.
